PLEIN LES YEUX FRANS FILM FESTIVAL

Saint Laurent

Only two and a half weeks to go to the launch of the first edition of Plein les Yeux Frans Film Festival, the first film festival in Amsterdam entirely dedicated to French and Francophone cinema.
I’m co-directing this new festival with Isabelle Nobile and we’ve been frantically working at it for nearly a year so it feels extremely exciting to be finally so close to the opening night.
Plein les Yeux will take place from 3 to 7 June in De Filhallen, and is the first festival to take place in this amazing new cinema complex in Amsterdam.
Plein les Yeux will be opened on Wednesday 03 June by a première screening of LA RESISTANCE DE L’AIR, the first film of Jacques Audiard’s protegé Fred Grivois, starring Reda Kateb and Ludivine Sagnier.

From Thursday 04 Plein les Yeux will present a program of 32 new films, with two competition programs (best French and best Francophone – including films from French-speaking countries: Belgium, Switzerland, Marocco, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Haiti and Cambodia) an avant-premiere program of highly anticipated French and French-speaking films and several special screenings about fashion, food, the Tour de France and much more!

Guest of honour of the first edition of Plein les Yeux is the respected French director, actor and visual artist Bertand Bonello. The festival will present a mini-retrospective of Bonello’s films (Saint Laurent, L’Apollonide and Les Dos Rouge), organise a film masterclass and bring to The Netherlands the exhibition curated by Bonello for Le Centre du Pompidou in Paris in 2014.
If you love French and French language films and you’re in Amsterdam at the beginning of June come and join us at Plein les Yeux!!!
